The 39th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration invites the community and visitors to gather in Minden for a meaningful weekend honoring the life, legacy, and vision of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through fellowship, reflection, and service.

Saturday, January 17 | 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Webster Junior High School
Kick off the celebration with community activities, youth engagement, and fellowship as we come together to reflect on Dr. King’s impact and message of unity.

Sunday, January 18 | Commemorative Service

Mt. Zion CME Church
Join us for a special worship service featuring and recognizing individuals and students whose work reflects Dr. King’s enduring vision.

Monday, January 19 | MLK Day of Service | 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Honor Dr. King through action with a full day dedicated to service and reflection, including:

• MLK Prayer Call

• Ecumenical March | MLK Drive

• Day of Service and Giving

• MLK Community Reflections (via Zoom)

Celebrating Leadership & Youth

The weekend also highlights essay and poster contests and leadership awards, celebrating creativity, service, and leadership inspired by Dr. King’s legacy.

This annual celebration offers meaningful ways to honor Dr. King while strengthening community bonds and continuing his mission of service, equality, and unity.
